We stayed at this hotel with our family for 12 days in July and had a wonderful experience. The service was outstanding from check-in to check-out. The staff at reception, the restaurants, and throughout the hotel were always friendly, professional, and ready to help. Any request was handled quickly, and when we had an issue with our room, it was changed immediately without any hassle. The rooms were clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and our room on the 8th floor with a side sea view had a beautiful view—perfect for relaxing on the balcony in the evenings. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of fresh and delicious food. The beach area with comfortable sunbeds was another highlight, and the hotel also offers convenient parking. The only thing future guests should know is that the bathroom and toilet have glass walls and doors, which may be less convenient when traveling with family. The location is also excellent—only a 5–10 minute walk to the Old Town, restaurants, and major attractions. We truly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return. Thank you to the entire team for a fantastic holiday!

We had a wonderful stay at Amàre Marbella. Our room featured a large private balcony with beautiful views of the Mediterranean, the beach and Marbella. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves while being just a short walk from the old town was a real highlight. The adults-only concept creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. The beachfront location is excellent, the pool and private beach area are well maintained, and complimentary beach towels are provided. We booked The One Amàre package and found it well worth the extra cost. Lounge access with drinks, snacks and light refreshments throughout the day added real value. Breakfast was excellent, and we also enjoyed the rooftop bar with its great views and cocktails. The daily hydrotherapy session was one of the highlights of our stay. The spa facilities were relaxing and well maintained, and the massage jets were particularly enjoyable. Wi-Fi worked reliably throughout the hotel, even on the beach. With its excellent location, attentive service and relaxed atmosphere, Amàre Marbella is a hotel we would happily return to.

First visit to Marbella. We stayed two weeks at the Amare and had an amazing time. The hotel’s location is ideal for the old town and beach front restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed by the pool with daily entertainment eg dancers, singers and live music. If you want a livelier vibe the beach club has a DJ every day. We loved it and managed to have both fun and relaxation. We were in a Keep the Secret room and couldn’t be happier with the view of both pool and sea. Thank you Amare for giving us a spacious balcony to enjoy on our two week vacation. The rooms and hotel are kept spotless and the team work so hard to ensure the hotel is maintained and cleaned regularly. In fact, the whole team make the hotel a special place to be. We would not hesitate in visiting again and we do not often say this about the many hotels we have visited over the years.

Such an amazing hotel. I would recommend to anyone, with some caveats. The staff (besides the night shift reception desk) are all so nice. The best place to stay in marbs, as long as you do not have changes to your reservation (they will not accommodate them).

We went for a mini-break during which my husband celebrated a birthday, “the best ever”, he declared (and he has had more than 80!) This was mostly due to the excellence of the Don Pepe Hotel (slightly enhanced by perfect weather). In every area the hotel was superb, the very comfortable room, the superb breakfast buffet which provided a wide choice of meats, cheeses, fruits plus individually cooked items, the wide choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner, but above all the friendly, high quality of service. The staff in every department, without exception, were happy to go above and beyond to ensure our total satisfaction. We are left with a lovely memory, thanks to all especially the staff of the Erre restaurant.

Stunning setting and phenomenal service – both combined to make this a dream hotel for us. We were celebrating and are much indebted to Francisco for his kindness and professionalism and for going out of his way to help us . Francisco is a real ambassador for the Gran Melia . – this is our first stay at Melia and because of Francisco and the wider team we will definitely make Melia our first choice when looking for a hotel. Thank you Francisco. All the staff we met were lovely . A big shout out to the breakfast team you were magnificent – pleasant and helpful despite busy service . We loved Lucia’s smile and warmth, Yvonne’s welcomes, and the gentlemen and ladies who served us were amazing. The young man who looks after the water and room refreshments was so friendly and chatty and our housekeeping and evening service ladies were wonderful. The food was of a high standard at breakfast and at Bardot and the pool. We also enjoyed a meal at China Crown and the ambience at buzzy Cappuccino. The pool concierges were great always there to sort a sunbed or bring a drink or snack. Our stay was pure bliss and we really hope we can return and enjoy the reinvented Don Pepe and in the meantime sample a few other locations with Melia. Thank you you made us very happy

I had an amazing stay at this hotel while celebrating my 40th birthday in Marbella, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment I started planning my celebration, the team was incredibly helpful and paid great attention to every detail. Everything I requested was carried out perfectly, making my birthday truly special and stress-free. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to help. The room service was top-notch, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The only suggestion I would make is to add more variety to the buffet, especially more Caribbean and African dishes. I think this would make the dining experience even better for guests from different backgrounds. Thank you to the entire team for making my 40th birthday celebration so memorable. We stayed for 5 nights. Very helpful at check in. We arrived at 11:00 am and got our bracelets. We could not get into the room yet so we put our bags in the bag room. You need €2 for the lockers. They have a limited amount. You also need to give a €10 deposit for pool towels and €1 per token for a drink cup. (You can bring your own cup). The food was very good with a wide selection. We never had lunch as they have a snack bar near the pool and the kids were happy with the selection. The pools are great with slides and in the deep pool they have a morning and afternoon exercise class. They also have a shallow pool for younger children. The restaurant had themed evenings ranging from Italian, Japanese, Mexican and Spanish. They also have a free transfer to the beach In a mini bus. The driver was very friendly and she made a good effort with the children. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and hopefully will be able to go back again.

The AluaSun Marbella Park hotel is not modern, but it has been renovated and you can see that it is regularly maintained and well cared for. It has all the necessary amenities and is very clean, with daily room cleaning and fresh towels. The area around the hotel is very pleasant, with a park between the hotel buildings. For those who want it, there is a well-kept swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. The restaurant serves good and varied meals, and the staff take great care to ensure cleanliness and comfort. For me, there was one small downside: the mattress was too soft, which made it difficult for me to sleep, but that is a matter of individual preference. The hotel’s location really calls for having a car, especially if you want to go sightseeing rather than just stay at the hotel. It is true that the hotel is well connected by bus, but then the journey takes much longer.

Me and my family stayed at AluaSun for 10 days, we chose the hotel as it is the only hotel in Marbella with a water park for our children. Little did we know me and dad would be enjoying the water park just as much :p. The hotel did not disappoint in many ways. The service was impeccable, the staff were brilliant! And our room maid Seher was an absolute GEM! The entertainers by the pool were great. They have a kids club on most of the day so parents can have a little rest which is fantastic. Everything was just brilliant. We will definitely be coming back to the same hotel next time.

AluaSun Marbella Resort was amazing we stayed for four days! We checked in with Paloma who is such a nice personal friendly employee. She let us know the perks. We found out our breakfast is free in the mornings which is huge variety of food from fruits to cereals to cheese, meat, buns, fruits, pastries, etc… options are endless you can eat us much as you can. Healthy choices as well. When you come into the buffet area they check you in with what room number you’re from. This resort for some is a package deal all inclusive with drinks. There are three pools two for Amalie with children one just for adults behind do around 15 lounge chairs. I was only able to use it for one day we had too many excursions to do. The hotel has those also available for people staying there but my husband booked for us from home much cheaper on our own but those who need a guide take advantage. The only disappointment was you had to pay for parking $12.00 euros a day but Paloma mentioned to park at the mini strip up the hill it’s free you won’t get towed so we did. Everyone was exceptional friendly. My favourite drink Tinto de Verona excellent drink.

I would not recommend this hotel. The rooms and common areas were very dirty, and there were cockroaches everywhere. We also saw many other insects throughout our stay, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard, and it was difficult to relax because of the hygiene issues. Another major problem was the housekeeping service. The housekeeper kept knocking on our door between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. while we were still asleep. We asked for our room to be cleaned later in the day, but after that, nobody came back. As a result, our room has not been cleaned for an entire week. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not choose this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

We had a fantastic stay at Obal Urban Hotel during our trip to Marbella. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they kindly checked us in early, which was a great start to our stay. The rooms were modern, spotless and cleaned to a high standard, with fresh towels provided daily. The Sky Bar was another highlight. The food and drinks, and the bartender who served us each evening was always friendly, attentive and made us laugh The only small downside was that the pool doesn’t open until 11am, which would have been good to access a little earlier. Very nice hotel, great location. Room was small but OK although the price was high but its summer in Marbella so to be expected. Breakfast was OK, nothing special like the breakfast at The Amare just down the road. I prefer a chef to make fresh eggs to order in the morning not ones that have been sat there for a while. Nice roof top pool with limited loungers, annoying that it didn’t open until 11.00am each day and if you weren’t there by 11.05am you didn’t get a sunlounger but they are limited for space. I would stay again but not at summer prices.

I stayed here as a single traveller with a complex disability. From the go, nothing was too much trouble for all staff to help me (all with a smile). They even changed glasses and cups to plastic (I break things) and the restaurant, reception and bar staff were fantastic, putting me at ease immediately. It was they were “tuned in” to what I needed.||My room was modern and immaculate with everything at the right level. The walk-in shower had plenty of room.||The roof-top solarium was the perfect place to unwind after a day’s exploring, with delicious food and a well-stocked bar.||In general, I can’t recommend it enough! The apartment was huge and the beds were comfortable. We had a pool view apartment but you could see the sea from the mezzanine level – though it’s a bit sad that the wall of the upstairs balcony was so high that you could only see the view while standing on the bed. The kitchen was well equipped and included a dishwasher and ample dishes. The breakfast was fine, though much of it was clearly made from frozen – there’s a cooking station with eggs and bacon though. Kids enjoyed the chocolate fountain but they don’t have it every day. Indoor pool was very warm but the jacuzzi was not working. The location is fine – close to a large road but you can walk over it to get to a sizable grocery store and several restaurants. Well placed to visit nearby towns but nothing right by the hotel except a small beach. All in all, not fancy but good value for money.

A really amazing hotel. Rooms are located in blocks around the pool, ample parking facitilies if you want to rent a car also. Service at breakfast and throughout the day is really nice. Staff are so friendly, especially the activities guy Eli who has events for all ages from pool games with the kids to playing bingo with the adults and families. Tucked away nicely outside of Marbella, a taxi to Old Town is ~€17, with shops and some bars & restaurants a short walk away. Location is good to get to other areas. Rooms are good however room towels only changed every 4 days. The pool area could be so much better. No cleaning of pool area has taken far so far and we are on day 6 of our holiday. Pool has green algae on the tiles, sunbeds and floor area are not cleaned down. Litter from the previous day can be found under sunbeds. Bins are emptied around pool at the end of the day but other than a man with a leaf blower No other cleaning has taken place around the pool area. Shame really.

Our server Hamid was amazing. He looked after us so well, we’re 3 girls from England and he was so fantastic. He is very accomodating and works with his team well. It’s our first night had some great cocktails and food and we will definitely be back again. 100% consider Ona if you’re thinking of where to stay around Marbella !! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥂

Although the appartments and rooms are quite big, they are inadequetly insulated for noise. If you are a big noisy family or dont mind noise you’ll be fine. Do not expect to relax here or sleep peacefully. It is really a shame, but for families I suppose its great. The beds are great, kitchen ok, very old bathrooms and kitchens. Poor lighting for relaxing and reading. Again, just not what I needed as I was looking to relax with other adults off season. Personally I think it is over priced for what it offers, but the staff were great. I would only recommend during high season and for families with young kids.

I’ve been coming to this hotel for several years and stayed there about a month ago. As usual, I found the team fantastic. Everyone is top-notch in serving the guests, from housekeeping to reception and the restaurant. I especially want to thank Vélica at reception for her professionalism and kindness, as well as José in the restaurant, always smiling and always ready to make us laugh. Thank you to the whole team. Every time I come to your hotel, it’s a celebration. I feel right at home. See you very soon! Jean

Love this hotel, been going for 20 years. The staff are fantastic and we got a great upgrade, couldn’t ask for more, however the hotel is really in need of some investment and desperately needs to sort out the bottom floor. That said I’ll be back next year. Thanks guys!

The staff was very nice and polite. I arrived early morning and there was a room ready for checking in earlier, so I was very happy. There is a delicious breakfast and a good restaurant there.

As much as it pains me I CAN’T recommend the hotel.||The staff were amazing and without them this place would shut. The hotel is NOT a 5 star and is an average 4 star. There are no facilities. Everything is cordorned ouff and common areas are very very shabby. The basement areas have not been touched in about 10 years and have tape blocking them. The rooms need a massive updgrade as does the hotel hotel. Bfast tables were in the lobby of the hotel..genuinely. |The location is great and if it got a proper invesmtent it could be very very good. ||Staff second to none and couldnt fault them but it needs a massive investment.

Questionable 5 star, switches in the rooms didnt work and feel like they are coming off the wall. One night we couldn’t turn off a light. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and hairdryer only worked on the lowest setting. We were told there was only one restaurant for breakfast this could not cope with the volume of guests. Staff were friendly and helpful but still not 5 star by a long shot. We also came as an easyjet package that would not drop off or pick up outside the hotel but didn’t feel the need to let us know this. Check with your operator before booking.

My wife and I stayed at Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banús to celebrate our wedding anniversary and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.||Despite requesting a double bed when booking, we were allocated a room with two single beds. Not ideal when celebrating a special occasion.||The room then suffered repeated air-conditioning failures, leaving it hot, humid and uncomfortable. I reported the issue to reception and maintenance attended, however after a power outage the problem returned and required further intervention.||There were also concerns regarding the condition of the room. The balcony door latch was broken, meaning the door could not be properly secured. More concerningly, the furniture provided was in poor condition. A lounger on the balcony was defective and collapsed when used, resulting in an injury to my arm. The lounger support structure was completely missing offering no support, as you can imagine sitting from a standing position with no support can easily result in injury, which the hotel assistant manager could not understand in his initial response. ||I have uploaded photographs of the issues.||Following our return home, I raised these matters with the hotel and supplied photographic evidence. Whilst the hotel eventually acknowledged the issues and offered compensation, the only cash refund they were prepared to offer was €160 despite the number of defects encountered during our stay. A larger amount was only offered in the form of a future-stay voucher, which was of no value to us given that we have no intention of returning.||I appreciate that problems can occur in any hotel. What matters is how they are dealt with. Unfortunately, for a property marketed as a 5-star hotel and charging premium rates, the standard of accommodation, maintenance and customer service fell well below expectations.||Based on our experience, I would not return and would struggle to recommend this hotel to others looking for a special occasion stay in Puerto Banús.

The best hotel out there with the best prices. The room was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed i’ve ever slept. The old town and the beach was super close like 5 min with walk. We left our bags even after the check-out and they kept them like 5-6 hours without saying nothing. The best!!

Everything was great. Clean rooms, good service, and a pleasant stay. If the breakfast had a little more variety for a 5-day stay, it would have been perfect.

This is a perfect 3-star hotel right near the centre. Check-in was really easy and Jose was really friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate – not a thing out of place, easy to use and well maintained. Breakfast was adequate without being amazing but if you care about breakfast enough there’s a really good cafe around the corner. All in all it was excellent value for money and I would definitely come back here again.

An excellent stay. The hotel is very centrally located with all amenities within walking distance. The rooms are spacious enough and very clean. There is a amazing pool on the rooftop with a beautiful view. Further offers this hotel plenty of facilities. The breakfast is very variable and international. We had a very great guest expierence, because the staff is very friendly and helpful. They take very good care to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Special compliments to Ruben for his incredible efforts. We will remember our stay there with a great feeling and truly recommend this hotel ti others.

Just like one of the comments here said, we also got a “shared room”, room that is split with the thin doors, so you can hear your neighbours using toilet, having sex, talking loud and you can wake up with the sound of person throwing up (from drinking night before). I told the staff, they did come up, but its their fault for renting us room with shared door not people using the room. Later that night there was also a loud talking/yelling (drinking) in other room, noone stopped it and it went on until 3:30AM or until i fell asleep from exhaustion. In morning I told that to the staff, asked for refund, it was like he was already prepared to say that they went up and stopped people having sex 😀 and rejected refund, but it wasnt about me getting 100€ back, its about respect and that you cant rent a shared room split with thin door, I was feeling like its my fault that I rented a room in a party hotel for a good night sleep. So if you came to Marbella for party, this is your hotel, you have nice balcony for hanging out with friends, noone will stop you, and you may be lucky and get a shared room and drink with your neighbour if you are lucky to get party neighbour and not a neighbour that wants a good night sleep. But if you came to Marbella as tourist, I would skip this hotel as you wont get a good night sleep, you will get a lot of sounds from street, from haning out in rooms, you will get a broken balcony door that cant lock and maybe a shared room with a loud neighbour.

BlueBay Banus offers a budget-friendly stay in Marbella, featuring a large facility with rooms that prioritize cleanliness. The property provides a variety of international breakfast options and a pool area located near the coast.

I was a bit worried about visiting after reading all of the reviews, however my experience was perfect! A lovely room, nice balcony, great food, lovely staff, great pool area and super close to the beach. Perfect for a fussy eater! There was housekeeping everyday, they were very friendly, made the bed and hung up the towels. Plenty of sunbeds. I would definitely recommend! Only downside was they didn’t have sausage and hashbrowns every day, only twice across the week.

BlueBay Banús is marketed as a 4-star hotel, but we’d rate it closer to a 3-star. The rooms were clean but very dated and in need of refurbishment. Don’t be fooled by the photos online—they don’t reflect the current condition of the hotel. The pool area could also be much better, with algae between the tiles, broken and dirty sunbeds, and unclean tables. Breakfast was disappointing and below what we’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Our biggest issue was customer service. We were told we could use the shower room after checkout and understood we could reserve a time, only to be told otherwise. Rather than resolving the misunderstanding, the receptionist manager, Jose, argued with us in front of other guests, which was unnecessary and unprofessional. The hotel is competitively priced, so expectations should be realistic, but basic maintenance and customer service should still be of a higher standard. The location is excellent, but we wouldn’t return.

I had the best holiday with my partner at the Blue Bay Banus staff were friendly and attentive and our room was fab! The room was absolutely fine! We had a superior room. The bathrooms are outdated however the decor etc of the hotel and the room is of true Andalucían style. We just did bed and breakfast as we went out for dinner however breakfast was also perfect with such a large variety. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the beach which honestly doesn’t feel very long when you walk it and around a 20 minute walk from the marina which again doesn’t feel long at all when you do it. This is such a good spot. For someone who spent a lot of time of this part of Spain growing up I felt right at home.

Had a great stay here with friends in May 2026. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Fantastic staff. Breakfast is great with plenty on offer, maids great and a nice 5 mins stroll to the beach. Food and drink very reasonably priced. 15 mins walk down the front to Puerto Banus or around €10 euros in a taxi. I’d 100% stay here again.

Frequently asked questions about budget hotels in Marbella

    What is budget accommodation?

Budget accommodation refers to types of lodging designed to provide affordable and essential services for travelers who want to minimize costs. These hotels typically provide clean, functional rooms and basic amenities rather than extensive luxury extras. In a popular destination like Marbella, this usually means prioritizing location and cleanliness over large suites or elaborate dining facilities.

    How much do hotels cost?

The cost of a hotel room varies significantly based on the season, the specific location, and the level of amenities provided. During peak tourist months in Marbella, prices can rise due to high demand, while off-season travel often offers much lower rates. Factors such as room size, proximity to the beach or city center, and included services like breakfast will influence the final price.

How do I select a good hotel?

To select a good hotel, you should compare guest reviews, check the proximity to local attractions, and verify that the property meets your specific needs. It is helpful to look for consistent ratings regarding cleanliness and staff helpfulness to ensure a quality experience. In a resort area, confirming that the hotel is within walking distance of transport links or dining options is also a key factor.

What is the difference between luxury and budget hotels?

The main difference lies in the level of service, room size, and the variety of on-site facilities available to guests. Luxury hotels offer high-end amenities such as spas, gourmet dining, and personalized concierge services, whereas budget hotels focus on providing a comfortable place to sleep at a lower price point. Choosing between them depends on whether you prioritize an indulgent experience or a functional, cost-effective stay.

What are the benefits of staying in a budget hotel?

The primary benefit of a budget hotel is the significant cost savings, which allows travelers to allocate more of their funds toward activities and dining. These hotels often provide convenient, no-frills locations that are perfect for those who plan to spend most of their day exploring the outdoors. Many also offer essential perks like free Wi-Fi and easy access to local public transportation.
