A little gem in my old town! This tapas restaurant never disappoints. The service of Danielle & Marco was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food is incredible: really fresh, served hot, and full of authentic flavours. Every dish tastes like it’s been made with care.

Highly recommend this place for dinner in Marbella. The food and service was great! We were served by Marcos, who was very helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations. We had the entrecote, lamb shoulder, suckling pig, anchovies, aubergine fries, and octopus salad… everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Will definitely come here again.

Anniken Hammer

The portions are quite big which we liked. The service only gets 4 stars since the staff that greeted us first said it was available inside, then they talked into their walkie talkie for a good while, while we stood there awkwardly. We also had to ask several waiters repeatedly to get the check, while waiting an unnecessary amount of time. The food was all good, as well as the matcha latte and the coffee.

Had a great experience at Rosas Cafe! The food was lovely and the atmosphere was welcoming, but what really stood out was the excellent service from Muhammed. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. His positive attitude and professionalism made us feel really looked after. Customer service like his makes a big difference and definitely made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you, Muhammed!

I loved this place!! The food was okay, the quesadillas had a bit too much cheese for my preferred amount, but the rest was okay. The ambience was extraordinary! So was the presentation of the dishes! Very feminine, but such a nice vibe, very calm, and a good place to meet up with friends! The menu is a magazine that displays the story of the owner, and also the actual menu itself. I found that the pastries such as the chocolate caramel cake were dry. But, the pistachio cake was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its ambience, not so much food.

Cute and quiet place to sit and enjoy a drink or some food. The service is ok – took a while to be seated and for my order to be taken, however the order arrived quickly. Not the cheapest but it’s a premium spot.

I went with my family for brunch at Rosas Cafe and we were amazed by the decoration, food quality, and the kindness of the staff. The team was very friendly, and we loved their dish recommendations. We ordered the Buenos Días, Teriyaki Bowl, Eggs Royale, and some chicken quesadillas, which we absolutely loved. The drinks were also very good, especially the fresh juices made on the spot, but the highlight was definitely the crème brûlée coffee. Thank you to Rosas Cafe for welcoming us so warmly. We definitely recommend it, especially if you are visiting Puerto Banús! ✨

You can design your own coffee and choose between so many different ones! Absolutely amazing! On weekends it’s full and you have to wait a little bit to get seated, but that’s worth it! 🤩

Visited twice for Ice Cream when staying in the nearby hotel. The service was friendly, and both times we made use of the outside seating area at the front. On our first visit, we opted for Cones. I had Pistachio flavour, my daughter had Mango. The next day, we opted for cups. My daughter wanted Strawberry, I went for Cheesecake flavour. They misunderstood and put both flavours in one cup instead of two. I didn’t bother correcting them as the overall amount of Ice Cream looked just right for us, and at least it was cheaper! We both agreed Pistachio was the best flavour we had. I liked the Strawberry flavour too as it had a freshness to it. The other two flavours were good too, but not as delicious as you would expect.

Gioelia in Marbella is an excellent spot if you are looking for real Italian gelato with a touch of creativity. During my visit, we ordered two gelatos and both exceeded expectations. The cones were not just the usual ones – they were made by chocolate and dipped in pistachio, adding an extra layer of flavor and texture that made the experience memorable. The flavors we chose were very well-balanced. One was mango cake with white pistachio, which was refreshing yet creamy, while the other combined dulce de leche with chocolate, a richer option. Both had a smooth texture, with no artificial aftertaste, and felt very authentic. The portions were surprisingly generous, with a very good ratio of gelato to cone, making it not only delicious but also satisfying. Another highlight was the service. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. Their positive attitude really enhanced the visit and reflected the care they put into the place. Considering the quality of the ingredients, the originality of the presentation, and the generous portions, the price was excellent. It’s clear that Gioelia focuses on offering both quality and value. Overall, this was one of the best gelato experiences I’ve had in Marbella, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This is my second year visiting Marbella and coming back to this ice cream shop. The ice cream was great as always, but unfortunately the service was disappointing this time. The staff seemed new and didn’t really seem to know what they were doing, and they weren’t able to give me any recommendations. It’s a shame, because last year I was helped by a young man named Nelson or Néstor, I don’t remember exactly, and he gave excellent service. Too bad he wasn’t there this time. I’m giving this rating only because of the service.

Incredible experience today! David and team really outdid themselves. We had extremely high expectations and they exceeded them. It was really an adventure of creative flavors and combinations. This place completely blew us away. We went for the tasting menu with wine pairings, and honestly, every single dish was amazing and the wine pairings were spot on and really brought each course to life. Overall, we absolutely loved Back Marbella. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and effortlessly polished, setting the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic dining experience. Each dish showcased incredible flavour and a thoughtful, creative use of ingredients—clearly crafted with skill and intention. Most of the menu easily earned 9/10s from us. Even the few dishes that weren’t quite to our personal taste were beautifully presented and clearly well-executed, which speaks volumes about the quality of the kitchen. The menu itself felt carefully curated and offered a wonderful journey through the flavours of the south. A truly memorable experience and one we’d happily repeat—highly recommended.

We absolutely loved this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, it struck the perfect balance—classy yet relaxed, with such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredible—attentive, fun, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our drinks were always topped up, they checked in at just the right moments, and took the time to explain each dish, which made the whole experience even more special. We chose the tasting menu and wow… every single course was amazing. The goat loin skewer was a standout—although the chilli lobster claw was just as unforgettable! Honestly, it’s hard to pick a favourite because it was all exceptional. My tummy is still full and my tastebuds are still dancing! I’d seen a review mentioning expensive wine, but I have to disagree—I had champagne and found it very reasonably priced for the quality and experience. A definite must-visit. Thank you to the whole team for such a fantastic evening!

Negar Omidvari

Great food and service, as expected! We visited here as a group of 6. 5 of us got the tasting menu and one ordered a la carte due to seafood allergy. We also got the wine pairing. Everything was great and creative. However the portions were rather big and heavy for the total number of courses included in the tasting menu and the wine pairing was also a bit too much in terms of pouring volumes. The lobster was our top favorite and then the sea bass. The pigeon was too raw for most of us, but very high quality tender meat.

Fantastic restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. We enjoyed an à la carte menu featuring a variety of standout dishes like goat cheek, venison loin, mushrooms, fresh seafood, and delectable desserts. The curry ice cream was a unique highlight! A well-deserved Michelin-starred experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and my experience was a delightful mix of highs and lows. The food was simply extraordinary, showcasing an exemplary flair for fine dining at an impressively reasonable price. The flavors were rich and thoughtfully combined, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. However, the experience was not without its imperfections. When it came to the drink selection, the non-alcoolholic offerings were confined to generic commercial brands, leaving something to be desired for those in search of a more unique beverage to complement their meal. Another notable issue was the timing of the tasting menu. Despite being assured that the meal would last no longer than an hour and a half, it ultimately spanned nearly three hours. While the food itself was worth the wait, the discrepancy between the promised and actual timing was a bit frustrating. In spite of these setbacks, the ambiance of the restaurant was utterly fantastic. With great music and a wonderful atmosphere, it remains a place I would recommend. These minor inconveniences did not entirely mar the experience, but they were notable impediments that the establishment could look into improving. Overall, it’s a restaurant worth visiting for the food and ambiance alone, but one should be prepared for a potential lapse in the beverage offerings and timing.

Had some lovely cocktails on our trip to Marbella, was so good we came back the next day for it again! Cocktails were on a 2 for £15 deal mix and match after 12pm. The Caprese empanada was very tasty. We have no complaints on anything we ordered.

Decent food, well we had pancakes, no atmosphere to rate really. It was ok, but nearly £27 for 2 desert pancakes, a latte, and a hotchoc.

Oh my goodness delicious gluten free ice cream and in a gf cone. The member of staff not only cleaned her hands before opening the sealed gf cone, she then went to the special gf only ice cream area. Complete confidence in this ice cream and it tastes amazing. Thank you

Cozy pastry shop on the promenade with a view of the sea. Excellent ice cream and sweets. Nice service. I’m always happy to stop by. This time it was cooler, so the choice was clear: cannoli and cocoa. 👌👍

A very cozy Caffè with a lot of choices and plenty of nice sweets to with your drink of preference! I’ll need to go back to try some other ones. I had the tarta de queso con lotus and was not expecting all the toppings (they were very welcome though) and it was delicious!

We come here from time to time for several years, and always enjoy the interior and the atmosphere. The coffee is superb, and they have good breakfast offers. Pistachio ice-cream is yummy!

Whilst walking in Marbella, we decided to stop off at Purolatte for refreshments. A lovely cafe, with indoor & outdoor seating & a very reasonably priced menu offering. We chose a Cappuccino, an Oreo milkshake & a Kinder Bueno Crepe. All were very good & we separately purchased a slice of the Carrot cake to take away for later – which was very nice as well.

They are serving raw crepes, the inside is completely liquid and I could spread it like butter. I felt sick, very disappointing.

Hand made ice cream is yammy and espresso is smooth. Hot chocolate is perfect. It was very nice to sit outside in the terrace and just enjoy the moment on a sunny afternoon.

The service was awful! The server was cleaning garbage, and once we walked in without washing his hands, he started to get orders and serve. His attitude was rude, and the quality of the ice cream cones was so bad; the cones tasted terrible, and the ice cream portion was uneven! I don’t recommend this place at all!

Went for brunch around 11am on Saturday and it was fantastic. Service was attentive and friendly. The gluten free banana pancakes were so delicious 🤤 and the overall vibe was very cute and cozy. We took some cakes and cookie home – everything was yummy and highly recommend the carrot cake! We noticed several different customers treating the staff in an appalling and rude manner. The staff maintained their composure and I was impressed with how they handled such outrageous behavior. I highly recommend Celicioso and please remember to treat everyone with kindness! 💕

Healthy gluten free menu that caters to all diets but of course pricey in Marbella. There are quite a few plant based choices. Even though the vegan cupcakes are dry, their menu selection is good. (no one in the world so far has better gluten free cupcakes than in Reno/Lake Tahoe, NV At Haven on Earth, from my experience making and tasting across the globe).

Sat May 30th at 1230ish the lady at the inside counter refused to take my order after we waited there to order, and told me to sit down and someone will come take my order. In the 30-40 mins my children and I sat and patiently waited, while we watched 5 other people arrive all around us, order at the counters and their food and drinks brought to them. It wasnt even busy so many empty tables. Each arriving later and later then us and all being attended quicker than us. The lady who refused us kept walking by us into baking room never looking at us or helping after she told us to go sit to order. Beyond rude way to treat customers.. I walked to the counter no one came to try one last time to order (after my stomach hurting 40 mins of waiting), and I told the woman outside at the juicebar im leaving and writing a bad review for literally the worst service. We walked around the corner to Lagom- welcomed with smiles and very kind fast service. What a shame that I used to visit Celioso for years as one of my fav places, that it has deteriorated to such bad treatment. My children were very sad sutting there watching everyone eat their cakes and drinks, other children with their dads etc while we sat and waited. Absolutelt terrible customer service by the lady running the register and the bakery at inside counter and who is managing it to get this bad?

Sat down, waited 15 minutes for a menu. Requested menu in Spanish the woman continued to speak to me in English. Took a further 10 minutes to get someone to take my order I was just about to leave but thankfully got the attention of this time a nice waitress. Taxis outside constantly tooting. I saw 3 people return their food in my time here. the beet detoxifier drink I ordered was delicious and spicy with the ginger, however the breakfast tea was terrible It’s quite an expensive place. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy and there are certainly nicer places on the cost to spend your money. If you’re looking for gluten free sugar free cakes etc to take away then I’d recommend, but to sit in certainly not. I cannot comment on how the food tastes, but people around seemed to be happy with their plates

Absolutely delicious! So much choice! Pancakes were amazing, worth every cent! (And to those complaining about the price: all over Europe small glutenfree bakeries are closing their doors because they are not charging prices high enough to cover their costs. The prices here are absolutely deserved – for excellent quality in a niche market). Thank you!

Frequently asked questions about artisan bakeries in Marbella

What is an artisan bakery and what is artisan bread?

An artisan bakery is a bakery where bread is made by hand using traditional methods rather than by industrial machinery. Artisan bread is characterized by the use of high-quality, simple ingredients like flour, water, salt, and yeast, often involving long fermentation periods to develop complex flavors and textures.

What makes artisan bread different from mass-produced bread?

Artisan bread differs from commercial bread primarily through its production process, which prioritizes slow fermentation and manual shaping. Unlike factory-made loaves that use chemical additives and rapid rising, artisan loaves develop a distinct crust and an airy, chewy interior (crumb) through natural processes.

What is the difference between artisan bread and sourdough?

While all sourdough is considered an artisan bread, not all artisan bread is sourdough. Sourdough specifically refers to bread made using a fermented "starter" of wild yeast and bacteria, whereas other artisan breads might use commercial yeast but still follow traditional, small-batch baking techniques.

How long does artisan bread last?

Artisan bread typically lasts for 2 to 3 days when stored correctly at room temperature. Because it lacks the heavy preservatives found in supermarket bread, it is best enjoyed fresh or toasted; keeping it in a paper bag helps maintain the crust's texture.
