Cliodhna Lafferty

Went with a friend for an evening meal . We made a reservation in advance so could request outside . Nice people watching spot on the street but not very comfortable . Food was amazing with unique choices – all dishes were packed with flavour and fresh. We had meatballs, mozzarella toast, fish tacos and fried aubergine. Aubergine portion was small considering the price . Service massively let the place down. Servers were not confident or professional , and service of drinks was slow. We ordered cocktails and waited 20 mins for them, a further 10 mins for our water. A small mention of the wait time to prepare could have avoided our frustration. Overall I would recommend but service definitely could be improved

One of the best tapas bars we have been to! They have a lot of different options, and the waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable when I asked if the dishes we wanted were gluten free. He asked the kitchen when he was unsure and I felt very safe. We ordered 5 different tapas dishes, and from these I would really recommend you to try the risotto, cheese fondue and the chorizo with scampi. Every table was full the first time we tried to eat here, and they had one available table the second time, so would recommend everyone to reserve a table if you want to eat in peak time. They have tables both inside and outside of your choice. It’s a big variation of the quality of the restaurants in the old town, but this place I would really recommend.

Second time lucky trying to get a table and for a very good reason; this restaurant is an absolute peach! The welcome was warm but the drinks, including the lovely house Cava were cold and spot on. As for the food, we had a variety of dishes which were all cooked and served to perfection. I had the chicken and bacon Caeser salad which was up there with the best of them. As for the fish tacos, just brilliant. If you can get a table, make the most of it. Reserving a table is almost certainly recommend but we got lucky with people just leaving. Truly one of the best in the old town and for perspective, I really love my food fresh and non pretentious.

Lovely little spot. Good and different choice of taps. Spicy fish taco, tuna tataki, etc. Went mid afternoon in June. Service was a bit too relaxed but nothing too bad. Nice wine too. I recommend this place.

We tried several different tapas at Arco Tapas Bar and every single one was excellent. The standout for me was the grilled octopus with potatoes — absolutely delicious. It’s also a fantastic place to sit back and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Marbella’s charming streets (when sitting at outdoor patio). A wonderful spot for great food and a memorable experience.

Really smart but relaxed restaurant, right on the beach. The food was great and it was served promptly. I just wish the staff could smile and remember they are part of the experience. We were served by 4 different people and just one raised a smile and non engaged us in any kind of conversation. Information about the menu was provided and orders taken as if the waiting staff had been trained not to get too close to guests. It was perhaps so noticeable because we had been to Moosa Bay, a neighbouring restaurant, earlier in the week and they were so friendly and engaging

What a beautiful seaside restaurant. We both had seafood which was exquisite. My friend was telling me about the wedding she had had here and it looked gorgeous for that event too. Personally, I was extremely grateful to be shown a new quality beachfront restaurant with excellent parking and easy access on a bank holiday. What a find! Will come back often 😎

Expensive but food is cheap. Brownie with lemon sorbet is just a basic cookie with whipped cream on top with a mini scoop of ice cream. Service is inattentive and doesn’t know who to handle honest feedback.

Dorina Tekler

an incredibly great experience. this was one of the few restaurants during our holiday that delivered all three – food, service and atmosphere – to the maximum extent. we were welcomed during the afternoon hours, staff was incredibly polite and friendly, we were sat at the direct view to the ocean. for the welcome we got bread, butter and little shots of gazpacho. upon request they served me gluten-free bread instead of regular one. we ordered a rib eye paella for two and it was absolutely amazing. it was served directly out of the pan at the table and we were given an extra hot plate to finish our steak as we wished. all in all one of the best dining experiences we had on this coast.

This restaurant took us by complete surprise. We were simply walking by when a lovely server called us over to look at the menu. After peeking at what was being served, we decided to give it a try and it exceeded our expectations. We were seated at a table with a gorgeous view of the sea, and all the staff were incredibly friendly. A special shout-out to Daniel, who took our orders, delivered our food, and went above and beyond by chatting with us and even teaching us a few Spanish phrases. The food was spectacular. Each dish was cooked perfectly nothing overly seasoned, and nothing too tough to eat. I highly recommend the lamb shoulder; it was so succulent. The overall atmosphere was great too not so loud that you can barely hear yourself think, but not so quiet that laughing feels like a crime. My family and I will certainly be coming back again 10/10.

My sincere appreciation to the entire team, especially Sebastian, for his outstanding hospitality and professionalism. The quality of the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and everything was prepared and served quickly. I highly recommend trying the fish with tahini—it was absolutely exceptional and full of flavor. Sebastian played a major role in making this visit truly memorable. His attention to detail, friendly attitude, and genuine care for guests created a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you to everyone for such a great experience. I will definitely be back.

Food-wise, this was probably one of the best meals of the whole holiday in my opinion. The sardines espeto were cooked perfectly. They were salted right on the edge – exactly where it should be. The grilled octopus was lovely too, with the veg sides complementing it really well. Service was just average, though. Nowhere near what you’d expect at this price point. We ordered another bottle of wine before mains which still hadn’t arrived by the time we’d finished eating. I’d also asked for bread before the mains – intending to eat it alongside the octopus since I like mine with good olive oil. It never arrived despite me reminding staff on 2 different occasions. It was only noticed when the waiter came to clear my plate and I stopped him… I was starting to genuinely think that they were growing the wheat out back and grinding it manually. Small thing in the grand scheme, but it added to the feeling that the team was stretched thin – perhaps a check back at the right time and I could’ve enjoyed the meal the way I intended to. I genuinely enjoyed the food enough that I’d give this place another go on the return trip though – the food was perfectly cooked and well seasoned.

I fully appreciate the concept you aimed to achieve, and I must say that what truly stood out to me was the number of wonderful people I encountered — elegant, well-dressed, and genuinely warm in their manner….However, the property itself feels somewhat tired and would clearly benefit from renovation. Considering the prices in the restaurant, the level of service and overall quality unfortunately do not quite meet the expectations one would naturally have….Of course, the warm weather — the simple pleasure of wearing short sleeves in March — will always be enchanting. Yet when a gin and tonic is priced at €25, one rather expects it to be served in a more refined glass….I hope this does not come across as overly demanding; it is not my intention at all. It is simply that a number of elements would need to be elevated for the experience to truly feel luxurious.

Ciara Rebecca Murnane

Gorgeous location however the food I was not the happiest with. Vegan options were not marked on the menu. I got the fattoush salad – perhaps I ordered wrong but I felt it was hard to eat as a lot of red onion and very little pitta bread. My mom ordered the zucchini pizza – she felt it was a bit too salty. We were a bit disappointed because we were looking forward to it. The menu could be improved with better descriptions and allergens should be marked. I think I would have felt not confident ordering something else if vegan options were clearly displayed. Great place to go with friends for tapas and cocktails I can imagine. Cocktails quite expensive however

We had a wonderful evening here and would definitely recommend it. Vibe & Atmosphere: We loved the setup, decor, and overall vibe. It’s a very pleasant place to come and relax, with great music that adds to the atmosphere. Drinks & Food: The cocktails were fantastic and high-quality. The food was generally tasty and beautifully presented. The only disappointment was the Al Pastor tacos; the serving was tiny and they lacked the texture and bold flavor we were hoping for. They didn’t live up to the rest of the menu. Service: The service was great overall. Our server was friendly and helpful, though there was a small mix-up with our appetizer and drink order. Despite that minor hiccup, the whole team was fantastic.

Honestly the best day we had on my friends celebrations in Marbella. The service was IMPECCABLE. Paula and Ibraham and the rest of the team were so attentive without being intrusive. The staff clearly have great communication and skills, as it was ran like a well oiled machine. An example of the service, I finished my drink and without even having to ask, Paula came over and asked if I wanted another, like she read my mind. The atmosphere was great, the food was gorgeous. I could go on and on with the compliments. 10/10 would highly recommend and definitely will be coming back next time if in Marbella.

My favorit Beach Club in Marbella. Always amazing food, the best DJ’s and great staff. Its expensive but worth it. They have tables right on the Beach and in the restaurant. Later Beach is turned into a dancefloor. I have been there for a late lunch and dinner 👏🏼

We spent the day at Casanis à la Plage today and, once again, had a fantastic experience. We’re regulars here and were happy to get two amazing sunbeds exactly where we like them. Casanis has a great cocktail menu; would really recommend the hot mango, Caribbean wood and the negroni to enjoy by the seaside. Lunch was fantastic as well, with the la plage steak sandwich & the prawns as the stars of the day. A special thank you to Filip and Jorge for taking great care of us on the beach. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, welcoming, and always around when we needed something without ever being intrusive. Overall, it was another wonderful day and exactly why we keep coming back.

Such a cool place – the whole vibe is amazing. We came here for some small bites (tapas) and drinks, and overall had a really fun time. We tried the salmon tacos – definitely something you either love or don’t. In our group it was a mix, some really liked them and others didn’t, so it just depends on your taste. What really made the night special was the birthday surprise. We asked the staff if they could help us celebrate at midnight, and they went above and beyond – they brought out our dessert with a candle and even gathered around to sing Happy Birthday with us. It was such a fun and memorable moment! 🎉 One small thing to keep in mind: it was a bit cold that evening. There are heaters inside, but depending on where you sit it can still get chilly. Overall, such a great experience – I would definitely come back! ✨🥥🐍

Our visit in Coya last night was true one of a kind experience. Atmosphere was like a trip to palace in Amazonia. Music was spectacular, yet we could speak in ease without raising our voice. Service was treating us like their best friends. Food and drinks were spectacular, unique cevice and coal grilled chicken were mouth watering. We are very excited to come back, one of my top experiences in Marbella😍 And it is so cozy around Christmas time, different vibe than summer season, I like it more👌🏼

It’s a very beautiful, stylish restaurant! The quality of the food and cocktails is mediocre; there are much better options on the coast. However, the ambiance, the music (top DJ Roberto), and the service—it’s an experience.

Great night at COYA Marbella. Stunning venue, open air super for summer nights. Staff were all so friendly, and our waiter was great. Not pushy or attentive. We ordered a selection of starters and mains to share. Ceviche always good, the tuna tacos, guac, sea bass cazuela.

Coya is a venue you visit for atmosphere and energy—not for elevated cuisine. Ambience & Music: 5/5 The setting is undeniably impressive. Stylish, vibrant, and visually strong. The music creates a proper party mood, and the crowd adds to the experience. If you are looking for a lively evening, good energy, and a fashionable scene, this is absolutely the right place. Service: 2/5 This is where expectations were not met. Service was noticeably slow. Courses took too long, and the pacing did not align with the price level. At approximately €450 for dinner, efficiency should be flawless—regardless of how full the restaurant is. At this level, delays are not acceptable. High pricing requires high operational precision. Food: 3/5 The food is not poor, but it is standard. Completely standard. For the price point, significantly more refinement and culinary depth should be expected. Presentation is solid, but from a quality perspective it does not justify the cost. This is not a destination for those who prioritize fine dining. To be clear: Coya is not for guests seeking serious gastronomy. It is for: * Cool ambience * Strong music * A party-driven atmosphere * Pre-night drinks * Social energy And in that context, it works. Final Verdict For vibe and nightlife: highly recommended. For refined cuisine and top-tier service at this price: not the right choice. Kind regards Olek

Great experience at Zellij Marbella. We had the wagyu skewers and lamb cutlets, and both were delicious — tender, tasty, and nicely seasoned. The Zellij parfait was also lovely, soft and well balanced. The service was amazing, with very friendly staff, and the club downstairs has a cool atmosphere, beautiful decor, excellent cocktails and great DJ music. Overall, a fantastic place for dinner, drinks, and a great night out.

This was a pit stop on our beach walk. The place looks nice and the staff were friendly. No prices on the drinks so it was a shock when we paid 10 euros for smoothie, 5 euros for a sparkling water and 5 euros for a small soft drink. Also to find they added a service charge. Needless to say this time, which is rare, I e don’t leave a tip. There is a pool, which looked lovely but we didn’t use it. If you like a beach bar, with a pool and sunbeds, then this could be for you. As loo g as you don’t mind paying

Served by Leo, 13 of us dining, we had am amazing experience. We all ordered cocktails and various drinks as well as different things, from varied and interesting menu. The staff couldn’t have done enough for us. The food was fabulous, everyone enjoyed their food. There was no room for desert. Experience was excellent. Thank you to the Point!! We had such a good time x x

Such a shame … we come here every year and use the The Point sunbeds and lunch, at the beach. We thought we would look at the Point Restaurant and pool area, for a change. We were greeted by a very aggressive man, who we have found out, is called, Tarek. We were not welcomed and were almost shouted at for daring to walk in for a look – even though we had spoken to his female colleague, to explain what we were doing. This man is getting it all wrong …

What an amazing experience today at The Point! I enjoyed a delicious Pornstar Martini and chicken bowl. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff made me feel very welcome. Even though I was dining alone, I never felt alone. Highly recommended! 🩵

20€ For parking of which 10€ you can use them as discount for jet ski or water sports 50€ for 2 sunbeds 14€ for 2 towels And “service charge” 10% of the total amount you will spend. We wanted to move around 16:00 to the swimming pool area and the lady by the door informed us that we need to pay another 150€ just for the bed at the pool area which by the way was not crowded at all. The beach and the sea itself is nothing special. They want to present the beach bar as luxurious and fancy according to pricelist but in reality is just a beach bar and that makes it overpriced.

Simple and good! No bling-bling, just pure hospitality and top food! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐My husband is a local resident and we came here to spend a wonderful day with friends. The vibe is beautifully relaxed with no bling, no high-pressure “big spending”, and none of the Instagram show-offs you see elsewhere. It is just a fantastic beach club. The food is absolutely top and the drinks are great, but it’s the staff who truly deserve a massive compliment. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about their guests. They are simple and good! We had a wonderful afternoon and evening here and will definitely be coming back regularly. Highly recommended in Marbella

This place is perfect! Location, vibe, service, music, drinks and most importantly the food. There is loads of choice for everyone. The children decided to have burgers, which didn’t last long!! We had the goats cheese salad, grilled squid and the teriyaki tuna. All of the dishes were delicious, fresh and full of flavour. We could have sat drinking wine enjoying our surroundings all afternoon.

Frequently asked questions about speakeasies in Marbella

    What is a speakeasy?

A speakeasy is a type of unlicensed establishment that sells alcoholic beverages and food, modeled after the secret bars of the Prohibition era. In a modern context, these venues focus on creating an atmosphere of mystery, often featuring hidden entrances, discreet signage, and intimate interiors. They are designed to offer a private, exclusive experience away from the main tourist crowds.

    Are speakeasies illegal?

Modern speakeasies are legal, licensed establishments that simply adopt a vintage aesthetic and "secret" atmosphere. While the original 1920s bars operated in defiance of the law, today's versions operate fully within local regulations while maintaining a sense of exclusivity. Visitors can enjoy these venues safely as they are legitimate businesses providing curated nightlife experiences.

    How to start a speakeasy?

Starting a speakeasy involves securing a commercial liquor license and designing a venue that emphasizes privacy and unique decor. Key elements include a "hidden" entry point, a curated cocktail menu, and a theme that transports guests to another time or place. Success depends on balancing the mysterious atmosphere with high-quality service and a distinct brand identity.
