The Tesla Supercharger in Marbella serves as a vital hub for electric vehicle owners in the region. While the charging technology is reliable and easily managed through the official mobile application, the station is situated within a private hotel complex.

Users should note the specific parking regulations, which require manual ticket validation at the reception to avoid extra fees. The limited space and strict time frames make it a functional, yet demanding, option for rapid power.

The Tesla supercharging station is good, but the fact that it’s located within the premises of a hotel makes it less convenient. You have only 30 minutes to charge and then you have to walk to the hotel reception to have you Parking ticket annulled, but only the first 40 minutes are free. So it’s a but more head ache then in easy accesible charging station. But since it’s the only Tesla super charger in Marbella, unfortunately i have no other option.

4 tesla superchargers accessible from the hotel carpark (steep right turn down the slope after you’ve taken a ticket and gone past the barrier). Once charging you need to go to the hotel reception to get a ticket that gives you 40 mins free parking while charging. Charging itself was easy to use from the Tesla app. Still wish you didn’t need apps to charge though!

My recent experience at a Tesla charging station was quite disappointing. Firstly, there were very few Tesla charging stations available, and to make matters worse, vehicles from other brands were also using them. The parking was private and extremely cramped. We left our vehicle to charge, with an estimated 35 minutes to completion. We decided to head to a nearby beach, but soon after arriving, we received a notification that the charging had stopped due to an error, leaving the battery at just 40%, with only 18kWh charged. We had to return and recharge the remaining battery. To top it off, we paid €6.15 for the parking, which for just an hour, ended up costing almost as much as the electric charging. This made little sense to me, and overall, it was a highly frustrating experience.

Great charger 250kw, there’s only 4 spots so it can get busy. It is pay to park but you get 40 mins free if you go to hotel reception. It’s very well located. And the spots are huge!

Horrible experience. I sincerely advice tesla to teplace the station. It is placed in the basement of Hotel Alanda. If you recharge your batteries for 10 euros you have to pay a parking for 5 euros. For this operation you have to drive to the hotel reception where the employee is incapable to speak english and to explain to you the payment procedure excepting the fact that his approach is totally unprofessional. Therefore, avoid this Tesla station.

The Tesla Supercharger station was incredibly convenient and easy to locate. The setup is straightforward, and getting started was hassle-free. Charging was impressively fast, allowing me to get back on the road quickly. It’s a reliable and efficient option for Tesla drivers. Highly recommend this Supercharger location for a smooth charging experience!

You have to go to the hotel to get 40 mins free parking and in case you spend more then 40 mins you will have to pay a lot for the parking. For an hour it could be approx. 15 eur and with the discount you will pay at around 3-4€ so better not to charge more then 40 mins

A regrettable experience. We had paid for the corresponding parking time, but due to a problem beyond our control, we were held inside for more than half an hour, with no possibility of entering or leaving normally. When we finally managed to reach the exit, the barrier did not open because, according to the employee, we had exceeded the contracted time. They demanded that we pay an additional €2.50, precisely for the time we were held up due to a problem with the parking lot itself. The worker simply stated that he had no responsibility and that, if we didn’t pay, we couldn’t leave. To avoid continuing to block the rest of the vehicles, we ended up paying. I find it completely unfair to charge customers for a period during which they were unable to use the parking freely due to an incident at the establishment itself. A shameful situation that leaves much to be desired. A disgrace of a parking lot. We paid 12.50 for 2 hours. They hold up all vehicles, both entering and exiting, for more than half an hour. When we reach the barrier, it won’t open because we exceeded the time, and we have to pay an extra 2.50 on top of the time we were held inside, or they won’t let us out. The parking attendant tells us that he is not responsible and that if we don’t pay those 2.50, we don’t leave. To avoid causing more trouble for the rest of the customers, we paid. But it was enough to call the police.Una vergüenza de parking. Pagamos por 2horas 12,50. Nos tienen retenidos, a todos los vehículos, para salir y entrar,, mas de media hora . Frequently asked questions about ev charging stations in Marbella

What is an EV charging station and how do charging points work?

An EV charging station is a facility that provides electricity to recharge electric vehicles, while charging points are the specific connectors where your car plugs in. These stations vary in power output, ranging from slow overnight chargers to rapid DC fast chargers for quick top-ups. They are essential infrastructure that allows drivers to maintain their vehicle's battery levels while traveling or parked.

How much do EV charging stations and charging points cost?

The cost of using an EV charging station depends on several factors, including the speed of the charger, the duration of the session, and the specific provider's pricing model. Prices are typically calculated either per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity delivered or as a flat fee based on the time spent plugged in. In many areas, costs can vary significantly between public rapid chargers and standard destination chargers found in parking lots.

What are the benefits of using EV charging points?

The primary benefits of EV charging points include providing a convenient way to power your vehicle while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Using these points helps lower the carbon footprint of your journey and supports the transition to sustainable transportation. Many charging locations are also strategically placed near amenities, allowing you to recharge while shopping or dining.

How do you choose the right EV charging station?

Choosing the right charging station depends on your vehicle's specific requirements, such as the plug type and the necessary charging speed. You should consider the location's accessibility, the current availability of the chargers, and the pricing structure offered by the station. It is often helpful to check if a station supports rapid charging if you need a quick turnaround or standard charging for a longer stay.
