Excellent seafood restaurant in the heart of Marbella. The quality of the seafood is outstanding—very fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We tried the paella, several seafood dishes, salads, and fried calamari, and everything was absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and professional, the WC was clean, and the location is one of the best in Marbella. Highly recommended. Thank you for a great experience.

I am sorry to leave this review, especially because I have been a customer of this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food. However, I do not think it is acceptable to be treated the way I was during my last visit. Despite the restaurant being very quiet and having very few customers, I waited quite some time without being attended to. When I politely asked if someone could take my order, I was met with a rude and aggressive attitude. As a result, I decided to leave without eating. I normally do not write negative reviews, but I believe the owner should be aware of this experience, as it does not reflect the level of service I have come to expect from this restaurant over the years.

We visited Los Mellizos Marbella quite spontaneously around 2 PM and it was a great experience. The place was busy with locals, which created an authentic Spanish atmosphere that we really enjoyed. It’s great that the restaurant specializes in seafood only, which makes everything feel very fresh and delicious. We were very happy with our meal and the overall quality of the food. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and would happily come back again.

Amazing food, stunning decor, and a wonderful atmosphere! We always come back to this place. The Paella con Mariscos is outstanding, and the calamari are fresh and delicious. The desserts are excellent as well. The service is super – very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

What a restaurant! We’ve been coming here regularly for the last 15 years. Our children love it. Their favourites: adobo, rosada a la plancha, calamares a la romana, pulpo a la plancha. For a big group, arroz negro is a good option to share as starter. Reserve in advance,

We’ve known this restaurant for many years and have always had a good experience, which makes this last visit even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service was not up to standard. The staff seemed inattentive and not particularly interested in the guests. As we were dining with a small child, I had to ask for a baby seat—and even then, it was just left next to the table for me to set up myself. Not exactly what you expect. The table wasn’t properly set (no cutlery), and when it finally arrived, the knife and fork were simply placed together next to the plate without any care. The bread was dry and honestly not enjoyable. When I asked for water, the bottle was brought, but I was then asked how many glasses I wanted—as if that should have been obvious or already taken care of. At one point, my credit card was taken directly out of my hands, which felt quite inappropriate. The food has always been good here, but this time it was noticeably below the level we were used to. Overall, a real shame. After many positive years, this experience left us quite disappointed—and we don’t think we’ll be coming back.

Highly recommend this place for dinner in Marbella. The food and service was great! We were served by Marcos, who was very helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations. One of the best meals we’ve had in all of Europe. Started with pizza bread appetizer, wife had pear filled ravioli and I had the seafood spaghetti, all were outstanding as was the service. Sat outside with a beautiful view of the sea. Highly recommended!

Oh my gosh, I just had the most amazing pasta dish! It was this incredible penne with a rich, meaty sauce. Honestly, I could eat it every single day. The flavor was so deep and satisfying, you could just tell it was made with love. It’s definitely one of the best pasta experiences I’ve had in a long time. Seriously, if you’re ever in the area, you absolutely have to try it. It’s a must-have on their menu, and I’m already planning my next visit just for that. You won’t regret it, I promise!

I had a really disappointing experience at Da Bruno Sul Mare and honestly would not recommend it. We ordered a wide variety of dishes hoping to enjoy a proper Italian meal, but nothing really stood out as good. The food was bland and lacked the richness and freshness you would expect from Italian cuisine. Instead of authentic flavours, everything tasted more like mass-produced fast food rather than something prepared with care. On top of that, the service made the experience even worse. Orders were mixed up several times, dishes we did not ask for came to the table, and what we did order took a long time to arrive. When the food finally came, it was either lukewarm or simply tasteless. The staff did not seem very attentive or organised, and there was no effort to apologise for the mistakes or delays. The atmosphere was also underwhelming. For a restaurant in such a location, you would expect something lively, warm and inviting, but it felt flat and uninspired. Nothing about the setting made up for the poor food and service. Overall, Da Bruno Sul Mare felt more like a fast-food chain than an authentic Italian restaurant. For the prices charged and the reputation it tries to carry, the quality and service were far below expectations. There are far better places around that actually deliver real Italian food and a pleasant dining experience. I will not be returning.

Lovely restaurant right by the sea with a lively and elegant atmosphere. We visited for dinner during our holiday and really enjoyed the evening. Service was excellent, Ayoub in particular was very attentive and friendly, making sure everything went smoothly. The food was very good and really delivers on value for money, especially considering the prime location by the sea and the high level of service. Portions were generous, well prepared and nicely presented. Tip, make a reservation if you want to sit on the terrace, as those tables are the most popular and fill up quickly. Overall, Da Bruno Sul Mare combines good food, great service and a beautiful seafront location, an excellent choice in Marbella that I would happily return to.

Hayk Amirkhanyan

We went to Da Bruno Sul Mare for my mom’s birthday. The experience was not bad overall. Staff were clumsy and kept dropping things, which didn’t feel very professional. The outdoor area looked a bit cheap, but inside was really elegant. The food was a mix of Italian and Spanish, with a big menu full of options. The menu was available in many languages like Russian, English, Spanish, and more. The best part was dessert — the brownie was amazing!

I just had lunch at Dolce Vita and honestly, it was such a good experience. We started with a salad with lettuce, berries, and cheese that was surprisingly good—really fresh and nicely balanced. Then we had the parmigiana, which was excellent, proper comfort food and full of flavor. Also worth mentioning: the walnut and raisin bread, which was something different and really, really good. For the mains, we went for three different paellas. The chicken one was solid and tasty, the black rice had a deeper, more intense flavor, and the one with octopus and artichokes was probably my favorite—just a bit more special and very well done. All of them had a great socarrat, which always makes a difference. Overall, everything we tried was on point. You can tell there’s care in the cooking. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Tons of Spanish and locals eating here. Chaotic and busy, you gotta love that – we didn’t mind. The waiter told us Paella would take 1 hour, considering how busy it was we thought it was acceptable. We killed time by swimming and he even came to get us when it was ready, very attentive!

Very good food and service! We stayed nearby and we saw that it is highly rated on Google so came here to eat. The food was as good as advertised. All of the fried seafood was done exceptionally well. The batter was light and the seafood fresh. Would definitely recommend getting the fried seafood platter. The paella is really good as well and the portion size was humongous. It fed the 4 of us well. Definitely do order as it’s value for money. The 12 piece croquettes is good as well. I loved the variety and freshness. Overall a perfect experience.

The restaurant is good and the food is delicious, but check your receipts. We didn’t ask for bread and butter, but they brought it to us and charged us for it. THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE YOUNG WAITER. HE WAS RUDE. HE KNOCKED MY CHAIR OVER THREE TIMES. I ALMOST FELL, BUT HE DIDN’T APOLOGISE ONCE. ONLY FOR THIS, YOU COULD REMOVE ALL THE STARS FROM THE RESTAURANT, BUT THAT WOULD BE UNFAIR TO THE OTHER EMPLOYEES, SO I’M GIVING ONE STAR LESS FOR THIS RUDE WAITER. We spent €185. For that kind of money, you can be more respectful to your customers!

We have hosted our InterNations Marbella networking event at Alabardero Beach Club for the third year in a row, and once again it was a fantastic evening. The location right on the Paseo Maritimo is simply unbeatable, with beautiful sea views and the sunset as a backdrop. The team, especially Lucia, is always professional, flexible and easy to work with. The atmosphere is relaxed, the space works perfectly for a standing networking event, and our international guests love it every time. Highly recommended for any kind of event on the Costa del Sol.

This is a lovely place to enjoy lunch if you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere. Sitting by the sea, listening to the sound of the waves while enjoying a drink, is definitely the highlight of the experience. The drinks were very good, and the staff were polite and friendly throughout our visit. We shared the paella, but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked flavor and felt rather ordinary. Considering the beautiful location and the overall atmosphere, we expected much more from such a classic Spanish dish. The prices are a little on the expensive side, so the food didn’t quite justify the cost. While the service was pleasant, it didn’t stand out in any particular way. Overall, this is a nice place to relax with a drink and enjoy the beautiful seaside setting. However, if you’re visiting primarily for the food, there are probably better options nearby

Good quality ingredients being either being pre cooked and re heated or left standing way too long. Something not right in the kitchen. Large tables not served all together. Mains arriving before starters. This could easily become the best place on the entire front. If it were mine, I’d fire the entire kitchen.

They squeezed us in for a last minute reservation. Overall a great experience. The baby calamari squid was light and airy. Just delious. The anchovies and chips are a must order! Beautiful view and attentive staff with great food. What’s not to like?

We were here yesterday and we were about 16 people, adults and kids. It’s a nice venue, with nice interior and it’s pretty clean. The food is ok, and the staff are ok. They all did their best. It’s not a place that I’ll have to go back to, but if a friend wants to meet here, yeah I could go back.

Please like and follow. I visited Trocadero Playa in Marbella and found the experience underwhelming overall. The beach setup is fairly standard, with thicker mattresses placed on wooden lounge chairs that are quite heavy and difficult to move. The wooden and straw umbrellas provide very limited shade, so you are often exposed to direct sunlight. On a positive note, the service was attentive and professional. However, the ambiance lacked energy and felt dull, with little sense of atmosphere or vibrancy. Lunch was average and did not stand out. The sushi, in particular, was disappointing and lacked quality. The table setup was also impractical, cluttered with unnecessary glasses and plates, leaving limited space for the actual food. Considering the pricing for beach access and lunch, the overall experience does not justify the cost. The food is acceptable, but it does not meet expectations at this price point.

The food was good. The pasta was alright and the uramaki was great. We ordered a jarra of tinto de verano but got one of sangria. The service was rather slow, not paying much attention to the little tables that there was, but not bad service regardless. Nice views, good overall. The lemon tart was underwhelming, presented as a tarta in Spanish however it was more of a mousse and small for the price.

Trocadéro Beach is my favorite spot! The sea bream salted crust or grilled is delicious. The gazpacho with condiments, the Pavlova and the white manzana sangria are all amazing. The sea view is perfect, the staff are lovely and always remember you. It feels like home.

A nice restaurant on the Marbella beach front. Good choice of meat and fish. The croquettes are delicious. There is no a/c only ceiling fans so dress light if you go during the day.

The establishment maintains a relaxed atmosphere suitable for beach days. However, the staff engagement remains formal, focusing on prompt order delivery rather than interactive hospitality, making it a practical choice for those seeking a straightforward dining experience.

Really smart but relaxed restaurant, right on the beach. The food was great and it was served promptly. I just wish the staff could smile and remember they are part of the experience. We were served by 4 different people and just one raised a smile and non engaged us in any kind of conversation. Information about the menu was provided and orders taken as if the waiting staff had been trained not to get too close to guests. It was perhaps so noticeable because we had been to Moosa Bay, a neighbouring restaurant, earlier in the week and they were so friendly and engaging

What a beautiful seaside restaurant. We both had seafood which was exquisite. My friend was telling me about the wedding she had had here and it looked gorgeous for that event too. Personally, I was extremely grateful to be shown a new quality beachfront restaurant with excellent parking and easy access on a bank holiday. What a find! Will come back often 😎

Expensive but food is cheap. Brownie with lemon sorbet is just a basic cookie with whipped cream on top with a mini scoop of ice cream. Service is inattentive and doesn’t know who to handle honest feedback.

Here’s a perfect 5-star review you can use for La Red Restaurant: La Red Restaurant was such a lovely surprise and one of our favourite dining experiences in Marbella. The food was absolutely fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We ordered a mix of seafood dishes and everything tasted amazing. You can really tell they use high quality ingredients and care about what they serve. The staff were kind, friendly and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The service felt natural and smooth from start to finish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, with a beautiful beachfront setting that makes you feel like you’re on holiday even if you’re not. The view, the breeze and the sound of the waves made it the perfect spot for lunch or dinner. We loved everything about this place and would definitely come back. Highly recommend if you’re in Marbella and looking for great food, a friendly team and a gorgeous location.

Title: A Local Paella Experience in Marbella Review: I came in hoping for an authentic Spanish evening by the sea — relaxed atmosphere, Spanish music, and good food. The food did deliver: the soup was good, the salad fresh, and the paella nearly perfect — flavorful, generous (easily for two), though a bit oilier than I’m used to. Portions were large, the two soft drinks fit the meal well, and the overall cost felt reasonable. I even left with half a paella for tomorrow. The setting had its quirks — bold red décor, black uniforms, and loud American pop instead of the Spanish music I was expecting. Service was also on the slow side, with no one checking in during the meal. Still, the food made it worthwhile. Four stars for delivering on flavor, even if the overall experience didn’t quite match the picture I had in mind.

In the middle of the tarp covered beach boardwalk you’ll find la Red, and you’ll know because you’ll feel the energy of the engaging, friendly staff. Excellent tapas, attentive waiters while sitting seaside. Doesn’t get better!

The food was very good overall, and the portions were extremely generous. The calamari, croquettes, and pork secreto were especially tasty and well prepared. The octopus was also good, although for my personal taste it had a bit too much sweet paprika. The staff were friendly, but the way the service was organized made things feel less efficient. Different staff members handled drinks, food orders, and payments separately, so we were often redirected to another person depending on what we needed. As a result, everything took quite a long time — from getting someone’s attention, to receiving the food, and even paying the bill.

We went there for a family dinner but without prior reservation of the table. We realized that despite almost empty restaurant they still didn’t want to give us well positioned table with a seaview explaining we have no reservation. We spent there almost 90 min and no one came and well situated tables were still empty. Food was quite ordinary if you ask me and you could find better quality, cheaper nearby.

MarAbierta on the San Pedro Paseo has been delivering quality for years. The fish and seafood are always incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and consistently delicious. Huge respect for maintaining such high standards in both quality and service, especially in an area where prices have increased so much. Still one of the best and most reliable spots for great seafood!

It’s a nice restaurant. The appetizers were DELICIOUS, we ordered pil-pil and anchovies in vinegar. The salmon was also very good. The paella was fine not the best but ok. The desserts were lovely. The cheesecake had a hint of cinnamon and the brownie had raspberry in it (reminded me of black forest). The staff were friendly and the service was fast. Good location with a beach view and the parking was very close.

Frequently asked questions about paellas in Marbella

What is paella and what kind of food is it?

Paella is a traditional Spanish rice dish known for its vibrant flavors and distinct cooking method. It typically features short-grain rice cooked in a wide, shallow pan with various ingredients such as saffron, vegetables, and proteins like meat or seafood. While many varieties exist, it is widely recognized as a staple of Spanish culinary heritage.

    How much does paella cost?

The cost of paella varies depending on whether you are dining in a restaurant, ordering catering, or purchasing ingredients for home cooking. In Spain, prices fluctuate based on the type of ingredients used, such as premium seafood or specific meats, and the size of the portion served. Catering services for large groups generally involve a per-person fee that covers the preparation and service of the dish.

What are the differences between paella and other rice dishes?

Paella is distinct from other dishes like arroz, fideua, or biryani due to its specific ingredients and cooking techniques. For instance, while it shares similarities with other rice dishes, paella is characterized by its use of saffron and a specific texture achieved in a shallow pan, whereas fideua uses noodles and biryani is a spiced Indian dish. Understanding these differences helps in identifying the authentic Spanish preparation of the dish.

How do you choose and use a paella pan?

Choosing a paella pan involves selecting the correct size and material, such as carbon steel or stainless steel, based on the number of people you intend to feed. A high-quality pan should have wide sides to allow for even evaporation and a sturdy base for consistent heat distribution. The size of the pan is crucial because it ensures the rice cooks in a thin layer, which is essential for achieving the desired texture.
