JC MONTE CARLO

Terrible store. No staff, no Wi-Fi and whatever you buy wil cost triple the Aldi or even mercadona value. I wonder who frequents a useless store like this. The only good department is their cheese and dairy section, but it’s more expensive than even the Corte ingles. Useless store in the very worst area of Marbella … By the way, it was not very looked after, and looked dirty

The shop is a chaos. At the small food restaurant in the center they send you from the cafeteria to the meat counter to order. A minute later they open the cafeteria counter again, because there are too many clients at the meat counter. If you just ate there and want to leave the shop, you’re not allowed to do it by the cashier counters, have to go all the way back to the entrance and go against the flow out of the store. Ridiculous.

Nice clean supermarket, the fish choice is very good, the bread choice is not so good. The main problem is the price labels, they are very misleading, 2 for 1 offers are particularly misleading. The checkout staff will not prompt you if you arrive at the till with one item when you could have two for the same price. If you question the mistake after checking out the till operators really don’t know how to rectify it. All in all best to avoid this supermarket.

Frequently asked questions about butchers in Marbella

How much does butcher meat cost?

The cost of meat from a butcher depends on the type of cut, the quality of the livestock, and the specific preparation method. Prices typically vary based on whether you are purchasing premium andaged steaks, standard roasting joints, or processed meats like ham. In local markets, prices are generally higher than supermarkets but reflect the freshness and bespoke service provided.

How do you choose a butcher knife?

Choosing the right butcher knife depends on the specific task you intend to perform, such as breaking down large carcasses or slicing thin pieces of meat. You should look for a blade that offers the correct weight and balance for your hand size, along with a durable steel construction. A sharp, high-quality edge is essential for safety and precision when handling different types of proteins.

What is the difference between butcher paper and foil?

The main difference is that butcher paper is breathable, while aluminum foil is airtight. Butcher paper is ideal for aging and wrapping meat because it allows moisture to escape while protecting the surface, whereas foil is used primarily for cooking or quick storage to trap heat and moisture.

    Is butcher meat worth it?

Butcher meat is often considered worth it for those seeking superior flavor, freshness, and customized portions. By purchasing from a butcher, you gain access to higher-quality sourcing and the ability to request specific cuts that are not available in standard retail packaging.
