Centro Cultural Cortijo de Miraflores

A calming break at The Centro Cultural Cortijo de Miraflores. This center is a captivating cultural hub that blends Marbella's industrial heritage with contemporary art. It is Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century farmhouse, it offers a peaceful retreat from the more crowded tourist spots while remaining within easy walking distance. The highlight of the permanent collection is the impressive old olive oil press and other items about this industry, providing a look at the region’s traditional industrial past. It could have more information panels. The center is known for its high-quality exhibits, which regularly feature a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums like the one I was lucky to find on my visit. The lush gardens in front are a standout feature, offering plenty of shade under the trees for a refreshing break. It is completely free to enter, making it a great cultural values in the city.

Farm House and mill that dates back to the 18th century. Nowadays is a study centre and its were the local history archives are based. You can still see the old mill machinery and there’s also a museum were some Roman items found in Marbella area can be seen. These two saints can be found in one of the walls. Any guesses who they are? 😃

I have been to varios cultural events here over the years. Today it was for the presentation of a map of the surrounding mountains - Sierras Blanca y Canucha

Interesting

The room is very well equipped, it has quality sound, television, comfortable chairs, air conditioning and good ventilation. The people in charge of the room are very helpful and very attentive. To keep in mind, our activity was on a Friday and we had to leave everything tidy and ready before 9:00 PM, which is when the Culture Center closes; we thought it was an acceptable time. There is parking inside the premises, which is very convenient. The event took place in very good conditions, we will return soon.La sala está muy bien acondicionada, tiene sonido de calidad, televisión, sillas cómodas, aire acondicionado y buena ventilación. Los responsables de la sala son muy serviciales y están muy pendientes. A tener en cuenta, nuestra actividad fue un viernes y tuvimos que dejarlo todo recogido y listo antes de las 21:00h que es cuando cierran el Centro Cultura, nos pareció una hora más que aceptable. Hay estacionamiento en el interior del recinto, muy cómodo. El acto se desarrolló en muy buenas condiciones, volveremos pronto.Translated commentShow original
