Teatro Ciudad de Marbella

We like to make time for a visit and enjoy. Happily have been there twice for dance festival. Take your time to pre-plan car park, pre-theatre drink nearby, little walk, tapas after in local establishments. Gorgeous trees in courtyard.

The on line ticket service wouldn't accept my UK mobile but we were lucky to get 2 of the last tickets for this show. Check the box office opening times. On the right side of small but plush, this theatre is very comfortable. Great view of the stage from our seats in the last row of the balcony. The flamenco show starring Eva Yerbabuena was superb. Very dramatic and effective use of darkness and minimal lighting. The dancer, three singers, a guitarist and a percussionist were all expert artistes. They worked flawlessly to create tremendous atmosphere and entertainment. The show was exceptional. Look out for upcoming programmes at this lovely venue.

The theatre is fine. Comfortable seats, large foyer, clean toilets.However, it is not well signposted and parking is a nightmare. A pity, because it could have been a lot more fun. Not really the right venue for Malakafest, a festival of mainly Blues music. Nothing to do with the theatre, but it was irritating that a 3rd of the audience arrived VERY late, whilst others were constantly getting up and down and leaving the auditorium during the performances. Very bad manners!

Overall the theatre is a lovely local theatre, but the boxes at the side are awful. I thought the second half was just an instrumental until the dancer came to the front of the stage and I realised she was there all along totally occluded.
